Keep you ASSAULT guns....Gimme that SPOON.
How do we have "Assault Weapons"? Well according to Webster Dictionary we cant. If you don't believe me please see the exact definition below. Assault is an action. Aren't action words verbs? So doesn't that mean I could assault you with a .......say soft taco? Well I could. I can take any inanimate object and use it to inflict harm on another person and that is the definition of assault. So why is there all the hype about Military looking weapons? I still haven't figured that one out yet. In the military they have a name for their equipment and most of it does special things as their mission dictates. The military has full automatic weapons. That by rough definition means when the trigger is pulled and held to the rear position then it will continue firing until the trigger is released. The civilian equivalent can look IDENTICAL but it will not function the same. When you pull the trigger you get one projectile fired no matter if you hold the trigger or not. You only get one. So in essence, as a civilian you are getting a Camaro but with a 4 cylinder engine...
Back to the issue. Just because something looks like it is bad doesn't mean it is. And just because it sounds bad doesn't mean it is either. The use of anything is determined by the USER. If the USER decides to use it for bad reasons it is not the items fault. Therefore there is NO such thing as an assault weapon! I have attached a link for an Army ranger who killed a terrorist with a spoon. Where is the OUTCRY against Assault Spoons when they could be used in the civilian world next?

So many people ask about cleaners and lubes. Heres some results
So I was checking Facebook and one of my friends posted an article about firearms lubricants and cleaners. Well It reminded me of what I see from time to time. On many occasions I have opened the side plate of revolvers to find the entire action completely gummed up. It is because of improper cleaning technics as well as poor choice of chemicals. I thought I would post the link here
and let you all read it for yourself. If you wish to comment or ask questions let me know.

Steel Cased Ammunition
Ok, so let's discuss steel cased SEMI AUTO ammunition. Before we can talk about this subject, I must discuss a little physics. Newton's Third Law states.."When one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction on the first body." So how does this relate to firearms? Not only does it relate to firearms but it related to everything that we do in life, however I will stick to the subject. What this means is, when a cartridge is ignited in a barrel, the initial blast causes the cartridge to move longitudinally rearward, however it can not move but a minute bit before it rests against the bolt face. Newtons Law takes effect and the cartridge will try to move forward. Here it engages the forward lip of the casing against the inside of the chamber and contacts the throat rim just prior to the lead, better known as the area before the lands and grooves start. Phewww... explained. Ok so brass being softer than steel has very little impact on the "throat erosion" of the barrel until subsequent amounts are fired through the firearm.
Stay with me. Another property is, you can not increase temperature without an increase in pressure and vice versa. Essentially what I am trying to explain is the casing is like a miniature jack hammer for a split second that slams first rearward then forward. Imagine if you will, what will happen if you feed your barrel steel cased ammunition constantly. My mental picture is not good. This becomes a gunsmiths nightmare, not to mention that almost every manufacturers owners manual or web page it states if you used steel cased ammo it will void your warranty. Another terrible scenario is what about rust? What about leaving that steel cased ammo in the chamber and moisture from humidity or anything else reaching it. It will lock your weapon CLOSED!
I think you get the picture. Hopefully I have made you think and changed some minds when it comes to your ammunition choice. Remember if you take care of your firearm, it will take care of you!
